Argentina has suffered arctic temperatures over the last five days and has left at least six people dead as a consequence of cold conditions in various parts of the country.
In Catamarca province, a 51-year man died of a heart attack caused by hypothermia. Also in the early hours of Monday morning, Jose Romera, a homeless man aged 47, was discovered dead in the streets of Adresito in Misiones, due to hypothermia.
In Buenos Aires, early morning temperatures dropped as low as 1.6 degrees C, before rising to 10 degrees C in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly for the rest of the week.
In parts of Jujuy and Mendoza, locals suffered temperatures of up to -10 degrees C with heavy snowfall in some parts.
