The Province of Misiones plans to buy 100 collective passenger transport vehicles with the aim of selling them through a rental scheme to Yerba Mate producers and growers.
The aim of this new measure is to eradicate dangerous old unsafe vehicles from being used to transport Yerba Mate workers and to prevent further accidents from ending the lives of rural workers.
The announcement was made by the Governor of Misiones, Maurice Closs. Closs said that the government of Misiones “would be looking for 100 units of urban passenger transport vehicles” with the purpose of buying and then selling, by granting loans to companies and managers of Yerba Mate companies for their harvesting crews.
